About Us
European Union Studies have been one of main objects of area studies for a long time at Tamkang University. Due to the dynamic development of the European Integration and the increasing influence of the European Union on the global governance, the Center for European Studies was established in order to strengthen the academic activities and exchange in collaboration with the Graduate Institute of European Studies of Tamkang University and the European Union Centre in Taiwan (EUTW). One of the main aims of the Center for European Union Studies is to widen the basic knowledge of the European Union in public. Therefore, EU lectures and forums, EU Summer/Winter School Programme and annual EU Week activities have been famous in Taiwan and become an excellent tradition. The current Director, Prof. Dr. Li-Jiuan Chen-Rabich, LL.M, has been granted Jean Monnet Chair on European Trade Law from 2015 to 2018. The Center for European Union Studies is also in charge of the Jean Monnet Module from 2015 to 2018. The academic results of the Center for European Studies have been recognized by the European Union.

Features
The EU Research Center, Tamkang University is established to consolidate the position in its European studies. Our Center aims at promoting academic exchanges with the EU member states, as well as enhancing the functions and resources of the “European Documentation Centre, Tamkang University”. Besides, our Center will strengthen the collaboration relationship between Taiwan and Europe.
